Dale,

<<I am still waiting for someone to tell me how our current Iran policy has succeeded where discussions would not. It's a hanging curveball for anyone who really thinks that talking is appeasement.

Any takers>>

If I can tag team something else onto your question which I think is important in this whole discussion.

What policy with Iran will work with oil being $120 a barrel?

My answer would be to talk to them but with the present price of oil, do they really need to listen? I would think you really need to hit them in the pocket book first and then they will become more pliable no matter what the strategy.

Neal

Dale,

Although I support Obama's position on this, I am very aware that I could well be seriously mistaken.

The problem is it can only be defined after the fact.
Chamberlain was an 'appeaser' because Hitler turned out to be a Monster. Reagan became a visionary statesman because it was Gorbachev he was dealing with.

Essentially we are having to bet on what Ahmadinejad is going to become?

Dale -

It's more like a vicious slider. Definitely a hard pitch to hit.
