I have a 500 gallon tank, so it cost almost $2,000 to fill it with heating oil.

It is funny, but I was over at the ford dealersip just a few days ago and there was row after row of these huge trucks with a logo on the front that said "supertruck'

They did not give the milage, but it has to be around 12 miles to the gallon I am sure. They are jsut huge. They cost around $50,000 I was told!!! I was thinking surely no one will by these now.

Anyway, I sold a waterfront house a week or so ago and was doing an engineering inspection yesterday when in drives the septic guy in one of those trucks he had just bought. I almost fell over.

The thing is most people are going to have to ditch those big trucks and SUV's (few will be able to sell them for anywhere near what they cost) and buy more fuel efficient cars. But many can barely make the payments on their trucks now, and they cannot afford to buy gas. So how will they buy new more fuel efficient cars???

There is a back log in Prius's now I hear.

How the kids and even middle class can ditch their trucks and buy more fuel efficient cars puzzles me? And in this country they just changed the bankruptsy laws so all of these kids trapped in the gas guzzlers with huge car payments could be in big financial trouble or a long time.

Our economic welfare is crumbling right before our eyes and people want to fight about whether Obama wears a flag pin on his lapel. Good lord!!!!!
