He has promised a lot of stuff to a lot of people. One thing he has not promised that I know of is that he will be governing from a "crisis management" perspective. No 3 a.m. phone calls. If his catapulting to the top past a candidate who had "the aura of inevitability" does not seem impressive to you, if you have not experienced how insurmountable problems can become surmountable through good planning and teamwork then your thought process and imagination can only extend t o the limits of getting together and singing kumbaya, which is something I see my elementary neighborhood school do everyday as part of their daily routine. Obama has beaten the Clinton machine lock, stock and barrel.
