There ROTC has not been allowed on campus (students can do the coursework at another school) since it was booted off during the Vietnam War. It remains unwelcome largely because of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy that excludes openly gay individuals." I doubt many Americans know that fact--------that Harvard banned ROTC after the Vietnam War that occurred in the 1960's and early 1970's. This was the University that Obama chose to get his law degree-----a University that had banned ROTC-----. Surely he knew that----did it matter to him that the University he would attend for his Law Degree had banned ROTC? mj
