Patrick, that's what i love about you... you are a gold bug.... this thread has taken the occasional grief 6 or 8 months ago.. in that gold is just not acceptable to watch and factor into one's global economic thinking.... i have always disagreed with that precept.

John

EDIT: one question I would pose to all of the readers and lurkers on this thread.... have we not worked hard and endeavored to keep our Macro - calls and analysis pretty consistant over the past 8 years. I believe that one of the strongest aspects of the comments, analysis and views that are articulated here is that they are fairly consistant on an intermediate and long term basis in terms of our view of which asset classes should be the beneficiary from the unfolding economic and monetary developments.

I would be interested in comments both pro and con as to wether or not we have tried to articulate investment and asset allocation viewpoints that have had some internal consistancy as market events have unfolded over the past 3,5 and 8 years.

my objective has been to not try to shoehorn everyone into the latest and greatest market scheme, that only benefits the pool operators.

regards,

John
