We may have experienced a planet decline. Wasn't Pluto demoted to a non-planet?

Poor Pluto was stripped of planetary status under the current astronomy rules, but as to origin. We do know or think we know that the universe began and time as we know it started. At least in my mind it is not preposterous to believe something started the process.

Pluto was "stripped of its status" as a planet, because it turns out that it is one of a very large number of icy objects out beyond the orbit of Neptune, and at least one of those objects is larger than Pluto. If Pluto had stayed officially a planet, we might have dozens of planets instead of 8.

The boundary between different types of objects in space isn't always very clear. The "planet" to "dwarf planet" is somewhat arbitrary, and its not the only such unclear or arbitrary boundary.
