Yes, CL, and as I lived in Edmonton till 78, I understand your previous description of the distances commonly driven there and
in Calgary, even for a quart of milk or a case of beer. Life in
Victoria for me as I live 5 minute bicycle ride to downtown means
the grocery, wine store, pharmacy, post office, bakery are just around the corner. Movies, plays and operas can be walked too.
The beach and ocean is a few blocks away (O ya and the Pub is just around the corner)and I heat my house by an airtight stove.
My oil furnace only kicks in those few times when it snows or I let the stove go out. Still, I own two older volvos. One seems on permanent loan to my two sons. I pay the insurance and repairs. I hope to ease into my dotage without too much vehicle requirements R.
