That is the reality and I will have to accept it. It will difficult, but I will be a good trooper and work for the greater good of the country.

That's a sentence I've envisioned typing more than once during this primary season. And typed variants of it in past presidential campaign seasons.

I've been trying to think of the hardest Dem nomination loss for me and the one that leaps to mind today, for obvious reasons, is the Kennedy loss to Carter in 1980.

Since the thread has recently become rather proper syntactically speaking, I'm fixin' to pitch in.

The word should have been 'trouper' as in one who is uncomplaining. A trooper is a mounted soldier or policeman.

(Hope you don't think I'm picking on you, Mary, as this is a very common mistake).
