I disagree. These are different regimes. All corporations are nationalized by the government in a communist society. The fascist society is a merger of big business and the government, thus there is no nationalization. Both societies are governed by a dictator. The Orwellian doctrine of these two societies is also entirely different. Communism will not happen in America, at least not in any foreseeable future. Communist societies are governed by the labor. If your neighbor got rich somehow, even though it's not allowed, you can just rob him, and that would be the proper thing to do. The other thing is to write a letter to the secret police, so they take and execute your neighbor without trial. Being wealthy is a punishable sin, and the secret police of the dictator works to implemeent the punishment <G> In a fascist society propaganda usually focuses on nationalism - we are much better than others, so others have to be destroyed (WAR) and must serve us, usually by using military force or threats. Note that communism is not a dictatorship by design, it's a Utopian society. Dictatorship just took over, because such a society is not possible. Some form of socialism is present in the United States and especially Canada and Europe, where taxes are being used to pay for public services and benefits. I confess, we could see some more socialism in America, in a form of higher taxes and benefits. This is not evil, and has nothing to do with dictatorship regimes.

i agree with you, that in this day and age fascism/communism are just the use of old hackneyed political science semantics we learn in Poly Sci 101. i am feircely opposed to any society that is a Plutocracy. China and the U.S. are both a Plutocracy. It is obvious China is now a Capitalist society with but socialist aura. Bottom line both the U.S. and in China the money is controlled and held by a minority. And the rulers exists to cater to that minority. That is Plutocracy. The holy grail of the human race is to find a political system that actually works in the long run, they have NEVER found it and they will, it is but the carrot on a stick that they chase, like rabbits would. People seem to not want to hear that Jefferson believed the U.S. would not ONLY have future revolutions, but they would be essential, for all political systems stagnate and beccome corrupted systems cratering to an elire. In our present America Jefferson would be viewed as a very very dangerous man for saying such things. You will note i am banned in many places because i say such things. People like to get rapturous about the perfect Democratic Time in Greece. i laugh, as it existed less than 100 years and it was utterly dependent on having a multitude of SLAVES. Who was a key destroyer of Grecian Democracy? Socrates, as he became rapturous in the Great Man/Strong Man belief and threw his support to the megalomaniac anti-Democracy Tyrant Alcibiades. i am quite unpopular on these threads as i subscribe to "Full of Sound and Fury and signifying nothing" i also subcribe to the powerful symbol of the Tower of Babel.
