Your government and it's citizens have been living beyond their means and your leaders think it can go on forever and now the storm is increasing in intensity.

Right, so my question was why is it better for the government to incur that debt, as we would with a single-payer system like yours, than for GM to have incurred it? You obviously recognize that we're going to incur it. How would we (and you) be better if the debt were public, as you recommend?
