John,

I was responding to this statement by Chinu about Obama

<<he is known to have not promised anything to anybody>>

I believe his campaign did promise something to the canadians. And that is what I posted. Are you saying that economic advisors are not part of the campaign?

And my Richardson comment was expressed as conjecture offered to counter a statement that was also conjecture but projected as the truth.

I would say that somebody saying he is known not to have promised anything to anybody is pure conjecture as well. Many promises are made in campaigns that we don't know about. He has promised many things to many people in all of the speeches he has given. So factually, that really is not a true statement either.

<<The best evidence I've seen for Obama's pragmatism when it comes to politics as usual is a longish piece in the NYTimes a week or so ago about how he worked his way up in Chicago politics>>

And there are pieces out there that raise issues with how he accomplished some(and maybe all) of what he is said to have accomplished that were posted several weeks ago.

I don't dislike Obama as a candidate. I will vote for him in the upcoming election. But when things are posted that he walks on water and has no faults and can leap buildings in a single bound, I like to take issue with it. I think those that have supported him from the outset probably don't see that bias in some of the posts here and give it a pass because of their position.
