I have that same plan with ATT/ex-Cingular. I started it with $100 and topped it up once last fall; still have $50 or so on the latest card.

I don't know. I assume so. It gets lower the more you pay ahead. I didn't use it all last year, although I came close when Ted was so ill and we were constantly in contact with everyone. I thought the remaining would go away at the end of the year, so added another 100, but I seem to still have the old amount there too. It's a CINGULAR plan.
