MM, I am from a big state and live in a mid-size state and don't want to see the electoral college scrapped, precisely because the small states would become irrelevant everywhere except the US Senate. The Founding Fathers created the system they did for a reason. They didn't have simple popular majorities in mind when they sat down to figure out how our federation should work.

I take it you are arguing for getting rid of the Electoral College.

I'm not arguing any such thing. I thought I was clear. I'm questioning the value of candidates campaigning in each state. To the extent that you can't provide me with any utility, I'm arguing against that campaigning.

I offered nothing on the subject of the electoral college, which seems to me to be another matter entirely. Unless you can connect the dots, that is.
