I'd listened to Don Coxe a couple of weeks ago who said the oil market moving to contango was an extremely important change. I didn't get the full gist of what the implication was. I think he'd mentioned fear of inflation. And he'd previously said that backwardation meant that speculator's weren't the problem. I didn't get the impression that it would mark a top at all. Wish I'd looked at some other commodities at the time. Now I see higher prices in several commodities for a year and gold is higher through the complete date range.

Russ Winter, responding to the Master's testimony about "Index Speculators", has some great comments about other causes of the commodities rise.
