Glad I spent so long over there on Uncle Sam's nickel.

We are, of course, tied to other rhythms of which the relative value of the dollar is only one part.

You are right about changing destinations to closer to home, or doing Mexico instead of the E. Caribbean. Dan says that the numbers of vacationers tend not to fall as much as you might think in recession. People consider their vacations sacrosanct, they need their vacations, they demand them! and so they are one of the last items to go in family costcutting. The type of vacation may change, but people still want that time away.
