Simplistic polling questions are another reason why we don't have thoughtful dialog, along with cable TV, talk radio, and the sorry state of education.

Florida voters say they will not vote for Obama. This is
representative of the Florida Jewish population which is huge.

I think it has to do with his stand on Israel... or lack of support as they interpret talking to the enemy would be...

>>"Most Americans—52%--say bringing the troops home within four years is a higher priority than winning the War. Thirty-nine percent (39%) disagree and say winning the War is more important. Men, by a 51% to 44% margin, say it is more important to win the War. Women, by a two-to-one margin, say it is more important to get the troops home."<<

If I believed that we actually could "win" this war, I might be in the latter camp. But I see no evidence that such is the case. The Administration seems to define winning as having a stable and secure democratic government in place, with violence reduced to some acceptable level (whatever that might be). I don't see how we're going to get to such a state through the use of force.

Furthermore, I don't see why we should expect that a democratic Iraq wouldn't eventually look a lot like Iran does now. How does "Iraqi President Muqtada al Sadr" sound?
