The subways I ride now are in great shape. Ditto for the subway stations. I suspect some are not.

Yes, they've managed to update the subway cars, and the new ones have anti-graffiti coatings on all surfaces. That has improved.

In the summer, however, the subway stations still have that distinctive aroma.
