Go to the local SS office to correct errors. Major hassle for me, since the "local" office is 50 miles away. Last time I tried to file my tax return electronically, it was rejected. Message was that the name and number on the return did not match the SS database. I checked against one of those periodic SS statements I receive and found that an "o" in my last name was replaced with an "e" I'm not looking forward to trying to straighten this out. And the Dems think the government can do a good job of running healthcare????

Good advice! And if anyone doesn't know where the original copy of their Birth Certificate is, they should order one at once and put it in a Safe Deposit Box....Usually, they take 60 days to receive, and when you need one, you need it yesterday! You and Smithee and others that have experienced those problems should find out McCains top advisors and copy them on the note you send to McCain.... Give them some concrete examples of "Our Government in Action" so they can use them in ads why we should NOT have Nationalized Health Care.... That is another disaster in the making.
