"$4 gas changes things. As will $6 and $8 gas, which may well be coming."

Free market may ultimately solve problem but dont you grasp what $6 and $8 gas will do this nations economy? Is a depression OK with you. Let them eat cake, is that your motto? I am a free market guy but between the RE crisis, the banking crisis, the gas crisis etc. this country does need direction whether its obamas or mccains. Ayn Rand may work for you and even me, but it wont work for America. The process should have been started when gas was $2, even if it was only a 50 cents sales tax on gas to help rid us of cheap gas and our dependence on it not to mention the mideast folks who now have us by the throat. Survival of the fittest is not an answer.

But I resent, DEEPLY, being told by others that I must sacrifice my basic freedoms in the interest of energy independence. There is no reason, whatsoever, the United States can't become energy independent without us sacrificing our lifestyles.

When Learjet Liberals come on the TV and and start telling me to reduce my fuel consumption, I am livid. When Obama starts talking about it "not being okay" with other countries if I drive an SUV, he can go straight to hell. I'm not going to give up my rights as an American to accommodate the Left. I am deeply opposed to interventions requiring automakers to deal with this problem. The market will handle it.

Grow up! You sound like a middle schooler........"if you don't do what I say, I'm not playing. Whaa.....whaa.....whaa!"

How you've managed to remain as immature as you are given your chronological age is a mystery.
