Western Europe has been dealing with much higher Oil prices than the U.S. for a long time, yet airlines are still flying, truckers still trucking and their economies in generally good shape. In the U.S. after some wrenching adjustments in life style and lots of wailing and teeth gnashing along the way, the country will survive.

Ron- Yes but will America stop flying? I doubt it. They'll get bailed out in one way or another. I would imagine there's some behind the scenes pow wow between the Airline and Oil Co. biggies. Remember the current administration is chock full of ex Oilmen. Record Oil prices nearing the end of Dubby's term? Gee what are the odds of THAT? LOL.
