I have no doubt Obama will sit down and talk with everyone; my point was more that some groups are rigid and zero-sum about the policies a candidate should support to get their votes. Each group has a checklist of statements, actions or other gestures they demand or they will pick up their toys and go play with someone else.

All politicians will fail to win over some of those groups. I just don't want to see Obama fall into the trap of bending over to cater to each one to the point that he has little identity of his own left.

I will be surprised if Obama wins Florida even though I am sure he will try hard to do so. If McCain picks Crist as his VP, it's probably hopeless.

But Obama could ring up a convincing 300+ electoral vote win without Florida if he succeeds in the states he feels he plays best in. All presidential candidates allot their time and resources based on some kind of a strategy, there is no way not to.
