There's so much to see here, I'm really not all that interested.

My husband was like that. X-husband. He was an Air Force officer in the sixties and into the seventies and had opportunities to go to Europe but didn't have any interest. Meanwhile, I was salivating at the prospect. I didn't start traveling internationally until we split. I never understood his attitude then and I still don't. It's such a big, wonderful world out there, not to be missed.

I spent about 17 years overseas in southern Africa, the Indian Ocean and both ends of Europe. England remains one of my favorite places since I did a year of university in Canterbury.

There is quite a lot worth seeing around the globe, I encourage you to take a maiden trip to your father's airbase and see how you like it.
