That attitude represents tunnel vision...Saddam provided a safe haven for terrorists and bribed suicide bombers, therefore he was one of the tyrants fueling world-wide terrorism. After 9/11, the strategy was to lure al Qaeda to Iraq in order for the battlefield to be there, rather than the terrorists first choice--LA, NYC, Chicago, etc.

The man who made the explosive used in the 1993 WTC bombing took refuge in Iraq. Was he a jihadi? Musab al Zarqawi sent money from Iraq to his assassins who killed Lawrence Foley in Amman in October 2002. Was Zarqawi a jihadi?
