Geoff, Sowell's brief TV appearances and occasional op-eds don't begin to do justice to his depth. There's good reason Bill's referred to him as one of the preeminent philosophers of our time. His ....and Cultures trilogy is a fascinating look at how various cultures developed. Or didn't. A Conflict of Visions and The Vision of the Anointed examine why some folks are conservatives, others not. Try any two and I'll betcha you'll read a lot more of his stuff.
