The Dems are going to have to make a much greater effort if they want to fill as many news pages as have the Republicans in recent years.

And by the way, I think it is Iraq that is the Republicans' primary problem. They convinced the nation that we needed to go to war because Iraq was a huge threat to us. It wasn't. They kept themselves in power in 2004 by playing on Americans fears of terrorism, with Cheney even going so far as to say that if the voters made the wrong choice, "we could be hit again."

Fear mongering? The environmentalists and GW "alarmists" aren't even in the same ballpark.

Let me say that for conservatives who are also disenchanted with Bush, et al, the fiscal irresponsibility is the number one issue. For independents, who are the real power block, it's probably Iraq first, then the money thing.
