The real story about the short position is that many buyers of the stock bought on margin. The brokerage houses took an offsetting short position thinking that this will be just like the other 99% of runs on junior stocks and that they would cover at much lower prices, forcing their clients to sell on margin calls. These shorts are in house and are not declared. Unfortunately, funds have stepped in on the buy side and now the brokers are feeling serious pain as they slowly try to cover. No doubt the brokers that are short the most have already contacted the company offering a bought deal financing. The game continues......
