Clinton wanted the vice presidency and Obama did not give it to her, it may piss off enough Clinton voters to make an Obama victory in November very narrow, or even throw the election to McCain.

I agree, there's a real danger of that. That might even be the real goal, not the vice presidency. Especially if Hillary makes a public issue of it after getting a firm "NO" through the back channels.

If she does that, she will be commiting political suicide as well as fratricide.

The Republicans are far more likely to try to spread stories like these than the Clintons (well, with Bill, indiscretion may occasionally get the better of him). McCain needs a decent share of Hillary voters to win. But I still find it hard to believe that they will vote for a man who not only personally opposes abortion and believes it should be illegal, but will appoint conservative "strict constructionist" (lol) judges who rule against feminists every chance they get. If Obama doesn't forcefully remind people of this in Sept-Oct, then he will deserve to lose. But he will remind people over and over.
