You won't be bored by Wilbur Smith's books.

Be forewarned, "Men of Men" portrays some attributes for Cecil Rhodes that you might (or might not) find offensive (i.e. the unmistakable suggestion that he was a homosexual with a lover), but the portrayal is in no way prurient, nor is it particularly pejorative.

You point out the problem that I have with Non-fiction. A lot of it is lifeless, with few exceptions.

One exception is David McCullough, who breaths real life into his non-fiction histories, such as 1776 and John Adams.

I LOVE this McCullough quote:

"No harm's done to history by making it something someone would want to read."
