Why do dems choose to conflate energy policy with tax policy on hedge funds that inevitably invites the veto? Please dont give me paygo. That excuse only is used when folks are playing politics. They want a veto so they can use it in the campaign. Or perhaps they think they can override it and get two birds with one stone.

They have pledged the paygo thing, which is good. The hedge fund thing is an easy target as it's unfair that the hedge fund managers get a convoluted tax break that us working stiffs do not get. To me it makes sense. Where else are you going to raise taxes to offset the incentive costs?

Of course it's politics; I'm sure the Dem's are willing to concede the 'Hedge Fund Manager' voting block to the Reps.
