Israel is smart enough and strong enough to know that they can leverage their proven military power and pure survival ability to negotiate solid deals with their enemies. The only alternative is mythical quests like the "war on terror" that can never end or stabilize. It will be refreshing if the US reverts to a practical realist foreign policy and dumps the neocon fantasies back in the Beltway think tanks where they belong. No doubt the chickenhawks will keep plugging away and foist them on an unsuspecting public again a generation from now.
