The irony is that we knock ourselves out trying to prevent Iraq or Afghanistan from being an AQ safe haven, and Pakistan has ceded the tribal homelands to them completely. It's obvious there is virtually no national government presence or authority out there.

Gee, I wonder where Bin Laden would choose as his refuge.
