5/30/08 update
It didn't feel like the bulls won this week's round, but by Friday's close both the Nasdaq Composite Index were indeed higher than the prior Friday. At the four trading day week's end, the NCI was down -4.89% YTD (vs. down -7.83% YTD a week ago), while the NBI was down -2.04% YTD (vs. down -5.02% YTD a week ago). The Contest portfolio median also gained, closing the week down -7.24% YTD (vs. down -11.43% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 9 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 11 of the portfolios beating the NBI. GENE's portfolio remains in first place by a wide margin, closing Friday up 94.7% YTD. ROBERT's portfolio held on to second place with a 26.9% YTD gain.
I adjusted the portfolios to account for two stock splits during the week: ORXE did a 1-5 reverse split and IVGN did a 2-1 split.
I finally reallocated the MLNM proceeds to the other stocks in RCMAC's & TILEY's portfolios. But I was too lazy to look up the May 16 prices and instead used the May 29 closing prices. I doubt this will make much of a difference. Also, I used RCMAC's and TILEY's initial percentage allocations to their portfolio stocks in determining the MLNM proceeds reallocation.
Have a terrific weekend folks!
