We've found some folks Obama won't meet with:

Senator Obama: Talk with Dictators or Meet with Commanders?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 23, 2008
Contact: Judy Mayka 202-834-5931
Or Brian Marriott 703-593-1679

This morning Vets for Freedom Political Action launched its first internet advertisement, which asks Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) why he is willing to meet, unconditionally, with foreign dictators, but has shown no interest in meeting with Commanders on the Ground and has not visited Iraq in over 2 years.

The 60-second ad, which was released at 8 am E.T. today, features retired Iraq war veteran Sergeant Garrett Anderson. Click here to view the ad. Sergeant Anderson served in Iraq with the Illinois Army National Guard, and was severely wounded when his patrol was hit by an IED.

The ad highlights the unfortunate fact that:

1) Senator Obama has never met, one-on-one, with the Commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus.

2) Senator Obama has not visited Iraq, and our brave troops on the ground, in over two years. His last visit to Iraq was January 2006, and he was there for less than two days.

3) On April 8, when two-dozen Illinois veterans went to his office for a meeting, Senator Obama was unwilling to meet with them. He was in the office, just wouldn’t come out. Sergeant Anderson was a member of that group.

The ad can be viewed at www.VetsforFreedom.org and can be downloaded HERE.

This is the first in a series of ads from Vets for Freedom PAC.
For more information or to schedule interviews with Pete Hegseth, Garrett Anderson or other Iraq/Afghanistan veterans, please contact Judy Mayka at (202) 834-5931, Brian Marriott at (703) 593-1679 or media@vetsforfreedompac.org

Vets for Freedom is a nonpartisan 501(c)(4) organization which focuses primarily on educating the American public about the importance of achieving success in the Global War on Terrorism by applying our first-hand knowledge to issues of American strategy and tactics. Vets for Freedom PAC is a federal political action committee which aims to support those candidates who recognize the importance of achieving success in the Global War on Terrorism. Vets for Freedom and Vets for Freedom PAC are separate organizations.

Obama, go lecture S Africa i/o slamming Rush and Dobbs:

Obama:

“A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year,” Obama said. “If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen.”

BTW Obama made up the lie about hate crimes doubling.

Reality check for those who decry American 'racism' and 'xenophobia'
Thomas Lifson
To the Left, America is irredeemably racist, and those who want our border protected are xenophobes. The insanity of these claims is evidenced by what real racism and xenophobia look like. In black-led South Africa, a country that is held to be the embodiment of the triumph of a victory over racism, no less.

We have already covered the horrific racial violence (black on black) directed toward South African immigrants, but after almost two weeks running, it is spreading, according to this report from AFP:
A wave of anti-immigrant violence in South Africa spread to Cape Town on Friday, even as troops and police appeared to have quelled the unrest in the hotspot of Johannesburg.

Police reported attacks against immigrants and foreign-owned shops in a slum area of picturesque Cape Town.

The southern coastal city is a major draw for tourists and had thus far been spared the mob violence seen in Johannesburg.

At least 42 have been killed, more than 500 arrested and 16,000 displaced in the province of Gauteng, which includes Johannesburg and the capital Pretoria, since unrest broke out 12 days ago.

Police spokesman for the Cape Town area Billy Jones said a public meeting to address the danger of xenophobia in the Dunoon slum area 20 kilometres (12 miles) north of the city degenerated into violence on Thursday evening.

"Groups within the crowd started to loot shops owned by Zimbabweans and other foreigners," he told AFP, saying 500 had since fled the area and were staying in community centres.

"Some people were assaulted, but mostly shops were looted."

Police also reported pockets of overnight unrest in Durban in the KwaZulu Natal region, where an unidentified foreigner was shot, and in North West province where two Pakistanis were stabbed.

That is what real xenophobia and racism look like. Demands for protection of our sovereign borders are not xenophobia. America actually gives racial preferences to minorities and welfare payments to immigrants, for better or worse.

Time to ash-can the defamation of America as a racist country, and go counsel Nelson Mandela about the racism of blacks in his country. Any leftists who denounces America as a racist country only demonstrates his hatred of America.

Say, wasn't the Cuban embargo started by a Democratic President? Obama thinks George Bush started it.

This is the kind of change Obama’s talking about
I keep vowing to take a break from talking about Obama (and talking about Obama talking), but I can’t help it. He’s keeps saying things that cry out for commentary.

So if you’ve been wondering what sort of change Obama’s talking about, it’s this sort of thing:

Obama contrasted his plan to break nearly half a century of deadlock in U.S.-Cuba relations with the stated intentions of Republican rival Sen. John McCain. He said the Arizona senator “joined the parade of politicians who make the same empty promises year after year, decade after decade” when he promised Tuesday to maintain the status quo of refusing any dialogue with the Cuban leadership.

“Instead of offering a strategy for change, he chose to distort my position, embrace George Bush’s, and continue a policy that’s done nothing to advance freedom for the Cuban people,” Obama said…

After eight years of “disastrous” Bush administration policy, “It is time to pursue direct diplomacy, with friend and foe alike, without preconditions,” he said, adding that the time and place would be of his choosing.

Gee, I somehow didn’t notice our Cuban policy—which has been in place for almost fifty years—was the handiwork of the nefarious George Bush.

And there’s that “without preconditions” bit again. Oh, but soon he’ll be saying he didn’t say it. Or he didn’t mean it. Or at any rate that we’re not allowed to criticize it. That would be racist.

And lay off Michelle, while you’re at it.

Karl Rove is an agnostic. He has told a friend in high school that he grew up in a largely a-religious household. He told a friend at the University of Texas, where some years ago he was teaching, that he would like to be a believer but he’s an agnostic and he couldn’t be otherwise. So Rove’s approach has always been not that religion and the values of religion ought to have a place in our public policy, which is the message that he sent. Rove’s approach is that Christians are a marvelously effective voter delivery system that can be rallied, motivated, energized, and delivered for the political candidate of your choice.
