I guess what bothers me is the public hysteria over what someone said.

I've only read one report on Obama's response, and it seemed very benign to me.

I'm much more interested in and concerned about who monitors speech. why speech is being monitored, and how it is used to manipulate political outcomes than I am about individual offense.

People (not you) get violent over what someone said or what they perceive someone said. Witness certain riots and assassinations (there's that word again) in the ME and Europe.

Robert Kennedy Jr. says it's no big deal: “It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband's 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.”

I felt that way from the very moment I read what she said.

Drudge headline:

SOMEONE COULD GET ASSASSINATED

Kinda puts it into perspective.
