The general is going to get dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. This stuff is going to look like nothing compared to what Turdblossom has up his sleeve.

Fortunately Obama is establishing a track record of simple, direct replies to the turd bombs, then keeping his cool and staying above the patty-tossing contests. That could be a pivotal part of his old politics/new politics paradigm this fall.

In the case of Hillary's flap he does best by saying nothing, though I agree in a less tense environment he might go further and try to take the sting off it for her. She has chosen a certain strategy that makes it hard to cut her any slack until the nomination is decided. But as you said, Obama is not out there demanding an apology.

<<<I would admire Obama if he defended her as making an unfortunate statement that was conflated by some into a meaning she did not intend, but not if he cried for an apology, as so many others are. >>>

What a state of affairs. Is this where we have come to? This says more about those that want an apology or feel hurt by what Hillary had said. Those are the same people who will compromise on health care reform and or think that Ronald Reagan stood for something good.

They have no good reason to be angry, but I am angry at the way Hillary has been treated. The unfairness makes me want to cry.

What in heaven's sake did Hillary say that was remotely objectionable?
