Yes, I do see that it's dismissive and snotty.

I was given some grief over using the term "Bushies" on the so-called "Just the facts" thread. They seemed to feel free to use terms at least that demeaning while referring to people on the left. I brought this up, and was told that people who are too stupid to see reason are not worthy of respect, so it's OK to speak however one wants to about them and to them.

I found that rather ironic, considering that the particular discussion that had drawn me to that thread was one in which they were all agreeing with one another that conservatives are far more open-minded than liberals.

The term "bush lover" on the other hand, brings up all kinds of associations for me. Not all of them unpleasant. But I won't mention them here.
