Funny how that works. Predictions of doom fail to come true because of human ingenuity. I'm pretty sure we can raise China and India to our standard of living some day. The key is energy. Necessity will drive innovation toward a future that isn't so dependent on oil or other fossil fuels. Then as standards of living rise, birth rates will decline, limiting population growth.
