I think a truly huge collapse of markets (60-90%) is a low probability scenario, at least within a year or so. I also think that the Dow in the 10k area is far from impossible between now and mid 2009.

The Fed knows that they're in a box with no decent solutions, and damage control and rescue ops are about all they can do. What rattles my cage are the political effects, including the war and 1984 and fascistic scenarios.
