Are desperate people more susceptible to falling for a scam?
I'm amazed at this one....

62 year old Bill Hutchings out of Scripps Ranch and his wife Xiaoke Li (42) and ex-wife Shawna Landis (29) masterminded this scam where they presented this Spanish Land Grant Map to homeowners facing foreclosure. They told them that with this Land Grant loophole, they would be safe from the pending foreclosure. All they had to do is hand over the deed, start paying rent to Hutchings and crew, and give them $10,000 up front. How many fell for the scam? 400 homeowners...
