"What they are" is transparent to most. The effort to create counterparts on the left just compounded the dysfunctional phenomenon. Comments like Obama's seem to be the best way to heap scorn on the screechers, though I learned long ago in public affairs that any response to tabloid crap just gives the tabloid more fodder to feast on. On second thought, winning the election with a platform that the screechers hate, and governing responsibly with a decent governing consensus is a better way to marginalize the BS. The few who actually take to violence are fodder for the FBI.
