This serves to remind me of making a right choice about 2 years ago. I was ready to buy a Gold Wing and ride with several friends on weekends. My Sweet Shirley talked me out of it then. Now, as I approach my 72nd BD, I know she was right. Hearing about Smithee, who's a bunch younger than I am, reinforces that decision. EDIT: I also was reminded of having spent almost 10 days in the hospital when I was just 18. Riding on the back of a friend's bike and a woman made a left turn and ran right over us. My friend nearly lost a leg from it and I had a broken ear drum and one helluva slash on the back of my head.
