Is there a pickle in it for me? I would negotiate for a good mellon. My kid and I have a water mellon chart. We have rated four candidates so far this season but are keeping an open mind, as the winner could still be out there some where. We usually close the nominations for the year in late August. So, I figure to give as many mellons a chance as possible. We rate on redness, juicyness, crispness, sweetness and general appearance (no mushy spots or hard spots). Sweetness is a more heavily weighted rating category than the other categories.
