has it ever crossed any neo's mind that paying for college may actually encourage poor guys to enlist?

But according to the Left, there is disproportionate representation of the poor in the military. Remember how unfair it is that we make the poor fight our wars? Now, you're claiming this is a good reason to support this legislation?

None of us understands the intricacy of the legislation; ultimately, we have to take someone's word for. On military matters, if John McCain says it, that's pretty much good enough for most people, and the rest of you will never be satisfied until we disband the military altogether.

Helping people get educations is a good thing. But we don't need to discourage anyone re-enlisting more than once to do it. And that was the purpose of the two Senators who wrote that bill.
