Suggest checking that 1940 figure for West Virginia also.

May be that the 1940 figure is not accuate which would then change the list again.

I thought it would be interesting to compare 1940 electoral votes with today considering changes in the steel industry in the north and the cotton industry in the south. This chart only includes the contiguous states. BTW the electoral vote total in 1940 was 531 and today it is 538.
