No one would want to see extreme effort that cause more harm than good. Every one can agree to want extreme effort that produces more good than harm. There are people who are smart, wise, and effective and there are people that are smart but foolish or even stupid and foolish. We need to be able to distinguish these types of people and make the smart and wise to be our leaders rather than the stupid and the foolish.

Bridge Player; I am saying a handful of fanatics can cause enough devastation that we should go to extreme efforts to prevent it. Does it make more sense to go to these "extreme measures" that only will cause the number of fanatics to increase in number and determination - or does it make more sense to to mind our own business so they don't hate us? They hate us because we are in their lands messing with their culture - just like we would be pissed if a ME Country came into America and messed with our culture - and our culture is not nearly as deep seated as theirs. What you suggest will mean that Americans will be prevented from going to a very large part of the planet without being surrounded by an armed guard. As we have gone to those "extreme measures", more and more of the world hates us. Why do you want more of that? steve
