But at this point, frankly, it isn't worth the debate. Everyone outside of Iowa and NH (almost everyone, anyway) knows that something must be done to change this way of selecting nominees.

That's something to be discussed prior to the start of the process, so put it on the table for a January 2009 discussion.

Here is a video of the Democratic leader of the House proposing the amendment to move the date to February.

Honestly, I dont see how anybody can view that video and still believe that they were really trying to move the date back. Remember, the original bill was sponsered by a Democrat and moved through a Committee unanimously. It was only after the DNC started threatening to remove the delegates that the Florida Democrats came up with this gesture to try and give them cover.

The DNC saw right through the ruse and decided to remove the delegates back in August.
