We wouldn't be there if not for the oil.

Oil is (and should be) a contributing factor, but only to the extent that Islamic Terrorism goes away with our dependence on foreign oil, and it is unclear that that is going to happen.

The entire cost is a subsidy to oil, including the lives of the soldiers.

Nonsense. This is just your head-up-your-ass view.

You are totally conflating the concepts of oil pricing with our national security interests.

The first people to get discounted in the war protests are the "No Blood for Oil" crowd, because it is so evident they don't have the slightest concept of what is involved. You are squarely in that category.
