I was a card carrying neocon but never did i believe the fantasy of remaking the middle east. I thought taking down saddam would be a good thing if you get a functioning state in place. We are getting there but of course the state more or less is a potential puppet of iran once we are gone which was not the objective at all. As far as Kurdistan goes, thats a win and hopefully sunnis can figure something out in what will be come a very decentralized iraq with oil revenue share and with US troops mostly out within 2 years. I dont know that you would disagree with me on this but this campaign is moving from obama 16 months and out and mccain 4 years and out to some type of meet in the middle common exit strategy although neither would ever admit this in public.
