Fine, I can see the logic in your position.

However, in deciding how far I am willing to let the country go now to prevent the nuclear scenario, I take that reaction into account. It doesnt really matter to me that Islamofascism wont be directly to blame....only that I dont see much chance of stopping the overwhelming response.

While Mary thinks Obama or Clinton could stop it, I think history is replete with examples showing that is unlikely.

Of course, I tend to be rather pessimistic in my belief in the capacity of people to respond to that kind of crisis. I was positively surprised at how few anti-muslim attacks there were in the days directly after 9/11...but I'm not willing to bet on something similar happening after a nuclear attack.
