No you fail to realize the debate about whether we should have liberated Iraq is over.

I wonder how many of the several million refugees in Jordan, Syria, Egypt and elsewhere feel "liberated." Not to mention the millions more internally displaced people who remain in Iraq.
We ran out of Somalia and what happened? Nothing other than a movie and an emboldened Osama.

The story of Somalia and Sudan hasn't yet finished. If you are worried about terrorism, it is more likely to be fomented from one of those places than from Iraq right now.
We run out of Iraq? I doubt Obama will be cutting and running and maybe you will have a reality check.

AQ under Osama (not Obama as you I'm sure accidentally wrote) has virtually nothing to do with Iraq at this point.
I am not rationalizing the invasion only the reason not to have abandoned Iraq to AQ once we invaded.

OK, good that you're not rationalizing the invasion. But I repeat--if we leave Iraq over a period of 2 or 3 years (and it will take that long even after a decision to leave is made), AQ will still not be powerful there. Iraq isn't Saudi Arabia. Or Iran. Most of the religious fundamentalists there are Shia, not Sunni. They will have nothing to do with AQ. Iran, yes. But not AQ. We have a different opinion of Iran as well. I don't think Ahmanijad is all-powerful there. He shoots off his mouth as much as Bush shoots off his mouth. But neither one of them is a dictator, even if both of them might like to be for their own reasons. They think we are crazy and aggressive when we call them "evil," just as we think they are "Mad Mullahs" when they say they are going to annhilate Israel in a matter of years.
